My husband was a remarkably talented and multifaceted man whose knowledge seemed limitless. There was rarely a subject he couldn't speak on with confidence and insight. I often asked him how he knew so much about so many different things, and he would tell me that during his years of incarceration, he spent countless hours reading encyclopedias and educating himself. He was a lifelong learner whose curiosity about the world never faded.
He was an old-school man through and through-traditional, conservative, and guided by a strong personal code. He took great pride in his roots and his identity. A true OG in every sense of the word, he carried himself with confidence, loyalty, and authenticity. With family ties tracing back to Chicago, he was proud of his connection to the Black P. Stone Nation and the community that helped shape him.
His mind was constantly at work, always generating new ideas and pursuing new ventures. He created his own card game called Isolation, planned on opening up a store called USA ONLY, and was in the process of starting a nonprofit organization called One America Foundation, with the hope that charity and proceeds would be donated to civil rights organizations, specifically those advocating for innocent people who were wrongly convicted. Unfortunately, he never completed his 3 book series called the First 12, the Last 12, and The Next 12. It was science fiction, and he had visions of the series making it big, but he only made it to the 13th chapter of the first book. Entrepreneurship came naturally to him, and he was always searching for innovative ways to build something meaningful and leave his mark on the world.
He was also a gifted artist whose creativity knew no bounds. Whether he was drawing detailed portraits, sketching, creating graffiti art, or painting, he had a unique ability to bring his imagination to life. Art was one of the many ways he expressed himself and connected with others.
Among his greatest passions was working with dogs. He was deeply dedicated to dog breeding and earned a respected reputation for his work with exotic XL Bullies and Cane Corsos. He dreamed of launching his own kennel, Angel City Guardians, and devoted countless hours to learning and mastering every aspect of the craft. His dogs became well known throughout the community for their impressive size, strength, and quality.
Beyond breeding, he possessed an exceptional talent for training dogs. He specialized in obedience and behavioral training, helping dogs become disciplined, reliable, and well-mannered companions. He was particularly passionate about service dogs and enjoyed working with dogs that demonstrated strong guardian instincts. His knowledge, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on both the animals he trained and the people who trusted him with their care.
Above all, he was a man of strong principles and unwavering conviction. He believed in loyalty, respect, personal responsibility, and discipline. Fearless by nature, he possessed a natural leadership ability that drew people to him and earned the respect of those around him. He was strong, determined, and fiercely protective of the people he loved.
He carried himself with confidence and authenticity, never pretending to be anything other than who he was. He faced life's challenges head-on and stood firm in his beliefs. To those who knew and loved him, he was larger than life-a man whose presence could fill a room and whose influence will continue to be felt for years to come.
Though his time here was far too short, the legacy he leaves behind is one of resilience, creativity, loyalty, and love. He was truly one of a kind, and he will never be forgotten.
