Alexandra Ebergenyi Barrañon, born July 1, 1995, led a life full of love, care, devotion, and gratitude. Love for her family, devotion to her children, and gratitude to life for all the blessing she had.
Alex, like all of us, was not perfect. She cried, she smiled, she laughed, she frowned, and most importantly, she loved and was loved, by the many people blessed enough to know her.
Alex left our world on February 16, 2026. Not of old age as we like to think we'll go, but at the age of 30, from a barrage of physical struggles that she carried with her through the past year. Despite her struggles she refused to let her conditions define her. Always the hard headed girl she's been from birth, Alex self diagnosed her rare condition to the doctors, despite their protests, and was ultimately proven right in spite of the doctors' repeated misdiagnosis.
Alex's loss leaves us heartbroken. The grief we feel is only akin to the compassion and helpfulness she gave us in life. From scheduling our doctor's appointments, to making sure we were taken care of before herself. Her loss leaves us with a hole in our heart that will never heal.
More than anything in the world, Alex loved her family and devoted herself to caring for them. She loved creating traditions, being present, and touching the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
In life, Alex was incredibly strong, kind-hearted, and intelligent. She attended Orange Coast College and planned to pursue a career in the medical field. She worked in the front offices of various hospitals to support her family while gaining experience in the healthcare environment.
Alex lives on in our hearts and memories. She will always be with us. She will always have a seat at the table, there will always be a plate of food for her with all the spicy toppings she loved to feast on. She will always be remembered for her trademark smile, but also for her quick wit and her willingness to quickly forgive and move on.
We will never forget her late-night taco runs with her siblings, our movie nights together, and her priceless moments of advice and encouragement to her daughter Alexa.
Alex is survived by her parents, Veronica Barrañon and Francisco Ebergenyi, her siblings Tony, Britney, Monse, Aylin, Fernando, McKenna, Paquito, her partner Jordan, and her beloved children, her proudest achievements: Alexandra, Elijah, and Jordan.
So whether you were family, friend, or just knew her in passing: please feel comfort in knowing that Nana Alex loved us, Nana Alex cherished us, Nana Alex appreciated us. Always.
Alex, we love you and miss you so much. Forever and always
